Description
A creamy, thick, and nutrient-packed green smoothie that tastes like a dessert but serves as a healthy, energizing breakfast. Ready in just five minutes, it combines frozen mango, spinach, ginger, and protein for a satisfying meal on the go.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks (150g)
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach, packed (about 60g)
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped (about 1 tablespoon)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (120ml)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (30g)
- 1/4 cup plain unsweetened Greek yogurt (60g)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Peel the fresh ginger using the edge of a spoon and chop it into small pieces.
- Add ingredients to the blender in this order: almond milk, Greek yogurt, protein powder, spinach, chopped ginger, frozen mango chunks, and ice.
- Blend on low speed for 10 seconds to break up the fruit, then increase to high speed and blend for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with honey or zing with extra ginger/lemon juice if desired.
- Pour into a travel mug and serve immediately.
Notes
For the thickest consistency, ensure the mango is frozen solid. If using fresh mango, freeze chunks beforehand. If the smoothie is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add more frozen fruit or ice. Do not freeze the finished smoothie as it will become watery upon thawing.
