Ultra-Creamy Frozen Strawberry Matcha Latte

  • Author: Harper
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick, 5-minute frozen matcha latte made with frozen strawberries, high-quality matcha powder, and milk. It offers a creamy, refreshing, and energizing start to the day without the need for dairy-heavy ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 teaspoons (2-4g) ceremonial or high-quality culinary grade matcha powder
  • 1 cup (150g) frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup (120-180ml) milk of choice (oat, almond, or dairy)
  • 1/2 cup ice (optional, if strawberries aren’t frozen solid)
  • 12 teaspoons (5-10ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • Extra matcha powder for dusting (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using matcha powder, whisk it with a splash of warm milk (about 1 tablespoon) in a small bowl to create a smooth paste, preventing clumps.
  2. Add frozen strawberries, milk, honey, vanilla extract, and the matcha paste (or powder) to a blender. If using yogurt, add it now.
  3. Blend on low speed to break up the berries, then increase to high speed. Blend for 45-60 seconds until the mixture resembles a thick milkshake.
  4. Taste the latte and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey, lemon juice, matcha, or ice as needed. A pinch of salt can enhance the strawberry flavor.
  5. Pour immediately into a tall glass or travel mug. Dust the top with extra matcha powder and serve with a straw.

Notes

For best texture, use frozen strawberries rather than fresh ones with ice. If the drink is too thick, add more milk; if too thin, add more frozen fruit or ice. The drink is best consumed immediately as it may separate if stored. For meal prep, pre-portion frozen berries and matcha into bags to blend in the morning.
