Description
A quick, 5-minute homemade version of the popular coffee shop drink that balances sweet, salty, and creamy flavors using real ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup strong cold brew coffee or cooled strong coffee
- 1 ½ cups ice cubes
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- 2–3 tablespoons caramel sauce (for topping and swirling)
- Flaky sea salt (for garnish)
Instructions
- Ensure coffee is completely cold; warm coffee will melt the ice and make the drink watery.
- Add cold coffee, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender.
- Blend on high for 10-15 seconds until the sugar is mostly dissolved to create a smooth base.
- Add ice cubes to the blender.
- Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until the mixture reaches a thick slushie consistency. Pulse if necessary to protect the blender motor.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or saltiness if needed.
- Pour into a tall glass or mug.
- Top with whipped cream, drizzle generously with caramel sauce, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Serve immediately with a straw and spoon.
Notes
Use cold brew for the best texture and flavor. Do not use hot coffee as it will melt the ice. The drink melts quickly, so serve immediately. You can make the caramel sauce ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
