Description
A bright, tangy, and incredibly refreshing frozen drink made with frozen mango, passionfruit, and fresh lime juice. It’s a light, tropical rescue mission in a cup that takes less than five minutes to make.
Ingredients
- 3 cups (450g) frozen mango chunks
- ½ cup (120g) passionfruit pulp (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lime juice
- 1–2 tablespoons (15-30ml) simple syrup or honey (optional, depending on mango sweetness)
- ¼ cup (60ml) coconut water or 1 cup ice (for consistency adjustment)
- Lime wheels or fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Ensure mango chunks are fully frozen. Squeeze limes and measure passionfruit pulp.
- Add frozen mango chunks, passionfruit pulp, lime juice, and optional sweetener to a high-speed blender.
- Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 30-60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Check consistency. If too thick, add a splash of coconut water or ice and blend for 10-15 seconds. If too thin, add more frozen mango.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity by adding more honey or lime juice as needed.
- Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with lime wheels or mint. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use frozen fruit for the correct slushie texture; fresh fruit will result in a smoothie. Fresh lime juice is essential for balancing sweetness. For a smoother texture, strain passionfruit seeds before blending. Chill glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving to keep the drink cold longer.
