Description
A budget-friendly, homemade version of the popular coffee shop drink that costs under $2 per serving. This recipe uses pure pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and spices to create a creamy, spiced cold brew in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons (30g) pure pumpkin puree
- 3 tablespoons (45ml) heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup (240ml) cold brew coffee
- Ice
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or oat milk (optional, for lighter base)
Instructions
- In a mason jar or small bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and pinch of salt.
- If using a jar, seal tightly and shake vigorously for 30 seconds until smooth. If using a bowl, whisk until uniform and thick.
- Fill a glass with ice and pour the cold brew coffee over the ice. Dilute concentrate if necessary.
- Slowly spoon the pumpkin cream mixture over the back of a spoon to layer it on top of the coffee.
- Stir well before drinking to combine the coffee and cream. Adjust sweetness or creaminess to taste.
Notes
Ensure you use 100% pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling, which contains added sugar and spices. For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream and milk with oat milk. The pumpkin cream mixture can be batch-prepped and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
