Description
A simple, 5-ingredient iced coffee topped with a thick, velvety maple cinnamon cold foam. This cozy autumn drink is faster and cheaper than coffee shop versions, requiring no fancy equipment.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cold brew coffee
- 1 cup ice cubes
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- Extra cinnamon for garnish
- Maple syrup drizzle for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare cold brew coffee by steeping coarsely ground coffee in cold water for 12-24 hours, then strain. Alternatively, brew strong hot coffee and chill it.
- In a small bowl or mason jar, combine heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Whisk vigorously with a balloon whisk or use a handheld electric frother for 30-45 seconds until the mixture forms thick, fluffy peaks. If using a jar, seal tightly and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the cold brew coffee over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Gently spoon the cold foam over the back of a spoon onto the coffee to help it float on top.
- Dust the top with extra cinnamon and drizzle with a little maple syrup.
- Serve immediately with a long straw or spoon.
Notes
Ensure heavy cream is very cold for best whipping results. Use real maple syrup, not pancake syrup. For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream. For a lighter version, use half-and-half, though the foam will be less thick.
