Fall Caramel Apple Sangria

  • Author: Harper
  • Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A cozy, crowd-pleasing autumn drink that combines crisp white wine, fresh apples, and rich salted caramel syrup for a sweet, spiced flavor profile perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 750ml Dry White Wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 cup Apple Juice (100%, not cocktail)
  • 3 medium firm Apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala), diced
  • 1 medium Orange, sliced
  • 1/3 cup Salted Caramel Syrup
  • 2 large Cinnamon Sticks (or 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
  • 2 Star Anise pods
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg (freshly grated)
  • 1 cup Ginger Ale or Sparkling Water
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Wash apples and orange. Core and dice apples into bite-sized cubes. Slice orange into thin rounds, removing seeds.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine white wine, apple juice, and salted caramel syrup. Stir well until syrup is fully dissolved.
  3. Add cinnamon sticks and star anise to the pitcher.
  4. Toss in diced apples and orange slices. Stir gently to submerge the fruit.
  5. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally 4-6 hours, to allow flavors to infuse.
  6. Just before serving, add ginger ale or sparkling water and stir gently.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or strength if necessary.
  8. Fill individual glasses with fresh ice. Ladle sangria over ice, ensuring each glass gets fruit and spices.
  9. Garnish with an apple slice or rosemary sprig and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not put ice in the main pitcher as it dilutes the drink; serve over fresh ice in individual glasses. The sangria improves with flavor melding, so making it ahead is recommended. If using ground cinnamon, strain the sangria before serving to avoid grit. For a non-alcoholic version, replace wine with apple cider and sparkling apple juice.
