Description
A fast, savory breakfast solution that transforms bagels into crispy, cheesy mini-pizza bites in just 10 minutes. Perfect for busy mornings and picky eaters.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large bagels (plain or everything)
- 12–16 slices thin pepperoni
- 1 cup (110g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons (30g) butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or toaster oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice bagels in half horizontally. If using large bagels, cut into quarters for bite-sized pieces. Place cut sides up on the baking sheet.
- Melt butter in a small bowl. Brush a thin layer of melted butter onto the cut surface of each bagel half.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the buttered bagel halves.
- Layer pepperoni slices on top of the cheese. Fold large slices if necessary. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes if using.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese is bubbly, pepperoni edges are curled and crispy, and bagels are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 60 seconds to allow cheese to set slightly.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Do not use frozen bagels straight from the freezer as they release moisture and make the bread soggy; let them thaw slightly first. Shred your own cheese for better melting. Use thin, dry-cured pepperoni for crispiness. Do not microwave leftovers; reheat in an oven or toaster oven to restore crunch.
