Description
A sophisticated, caffeinated cocktail featuring a signature silky foam created by vigorously shaking fresh hot espresso with vodka and coffee liqueur.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces fresh hot espresso or strong cold brew concentrate
- 1 ounce coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlúa, Mr. Black)
- 0.5 ounce simple syrup
- Ice (enough to fill shaker)
- 3 coffee beans (for garnish)
Instructions
- Chill martini glasses in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before serving.
- Brew a double shot of espresso (approx. 2 ounces) ensuring it is hot to help create foam.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add vodka, coffee liqueur, simple syrup, and hot espresso to the shaker.
- Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to emulsify ingredients and create foam.
- Double strain the mixture into the chilled glasses using a Hawthorne strainer and fine-mesh sieve.
- Garnish with three coffee beans floating on top of the foam.
Notes
Use hot espresso for the best foam texture. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. Ensure glasses are chilled to prevent dilution. Do not store mixed with espresso for long periods as foam dissipates.
