Description
A quick and easy weeknight dinner or snack made with refrigerated biscuit dough, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni. This crowd-pleasing pizza bread is ready in just 20 minutes and perfect for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (12-16 oz / 340-450g) refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (240g) marinara sauce
- 2 cups (200g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 1 small package (30–40 slices) pepperoni slices
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup (240g) extra marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Separate biscuit dough into individual rounds. If biscuits are large, cut them in half or quarters to fit snugly in the pan.
- Press the biscuit pieces into the bottom and up the sides of the baking dish to create a crust-like base.
- Spoon marinara sauce over the biscuit base, spreading it evenly but leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Layer pepperoni slices over the cheese. Sprinkle with dried oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Spread the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top to cover the pepperoni.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, and the biscuit edges are crispy.
- Remove from oven and immediately brush the top with melted butter.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before pulling apart. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm with extra marinara for dipping.
Notes
Use low-moisture mozzarella to prevent sogginess. If your oven runs hot, cover with foil for the first 10 minutes. Let the bread rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the cheese to set. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
