Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Churro Bites

  • Author: Harper
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy 10-minute dessert made with refrigerated crescent roll dough, rolled in cinnamon sugar and air-fried until crispy. Perfect for satisfying sweet cravings without the hassle of traditional churros.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz / 225g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (5g) ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • ½ cup (85g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (for dipping)
  • 1 teaspoon heavy cream (for melting chocolate)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for melting chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 370°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll crescent dough and tear into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
  3. Gently roll each strip between palms to make it slightly thinner and longer, sealing ends.
  4. Melt butter in a small bowl.
  5. Dip each churro bite into melted butter, coating completely.
  6. Place buttered bites into a Ziploc bag with the cinnamon-sugar mixture (sugar and cinnamon mixed together).
  7. Shake the bag to coat the bites evenly in the sugar mixture.
  8. Arrange coated churro bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  9. Cook for 5 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping bites halfway through.
  10. Remove when golden brown and crispy. Let cool for 1 minute before serving.
  11. For chocolate dip: Melt chocolate chips with heavy cream in 20-second intervals, stirring in between. Stir in vanilla extract.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Cook in batches if necessary. If your air fryer runs hot, lower temperature to 350°F (175°C) and cook for 6-7 minutes to prevent burning sugar. For extra crunch, add a pinch of cornstarch to the cinnamon sugar.
